Commitment to Environmental Law
Aware that oil and natural gas exploration and production may cause environmental risks, OGX prioritizes the conduction of its business considering a solid environmental conduct. To do so, all activities of exploration and drilling will be preceded by Environmental Studies, in strict accordance with the environmental agency responsible (IBAMA). Under the environmental licensing, OGX will implement projects that have as main goal to be closer to the parties affected by its activity. Social Communication projects, for example, will give transparency and clarity to the communities about the developed activities; the Environmental Education Project aims to allow the communities understanding in the areas where the ventures will be developed by OGX.
Social Responsibility
In addition to a transparent conduct in the legal sphere, OGX clearly sees how important is to be close to the communities located around its exploratory areas. Thus, OGX, following the EBX’s Sustainability Policy is creating its Social Responsibility Plan based on the communities’ socioeconomic profile, elaborating social and environmental projects encouraging better
quality of life.
Waste Management
It is noticeable that the contemporary life stile is correlated to the current condition of our planet environmental degradation. It is responsibility of the government, industries in particular and each of us the important role of balancing the economic growth with the protection of natural resources. The management of solid wastes, liquid effluents and air emissions is aligned with this thought and will be present in every action of OGX, its employees and subcontractors.
